The President of Latvia indicated that despite the harsh global competition Latvia had significant advantages. “The internet speed in Latvia is among the fastest in the world. Excellent flight connections to almost every corner of the world, affordable living costs, and a vibrant startup community are just a few,” highlighted Raimonds Vējonis.
He mentioned that the government of Latvia was launching a series of initiatives to support young companies and startups, including a simple flat startup tax legislation and the start-up visa programme was launched as well. “That is just the very beginning of the startup support package intended to make Latvia the Number One choice for startups,” said the head of state.
