Valsts prezidents: Latvijai un Dienvidkorejai potenciāls ciešākai partnerībai
To build closer political and economic cooperation between Latvia and the Republic of Korea (South Korea), President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis will meet with President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in during his official visit to Seoul on Tuesday, 13 February 2018.

The President of Latvia emphasised, “South Korea is one of the most important cooperation partners for Latvia in Asia. We still have great potential to develop this cooperation in a variety of areas like investment, trade, tourism, education, culture, air transport, and other sectors of transport and logistics.”

With the aim to facilitate bilateral economic cooperation, the first Latvia- South Korea Business Forum for businesses from Latvia and South Korea will be held during the visit of the President of Latvia in Seoul. A cooperation agreement with the Korean Importers’ Association will be signed for the promotion of mutual economic relations and the strengthening of international trade.

During the visit, Raimonds Vējonis will meet with Speaker of the National Assembly (Parliament) of South Korea Chung Sye-kyun, then he will participate in the opening of the new premises of the Embassy of Latvia, ​​as well as he will meet with the management of Samsung Corporation.

Visit by President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis to the Republic of Korea is the first visit of a top official from Latvia to this country. During his visit to South Korea, the President of Latvia is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economics Arvils Ašeradens and Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs as well as a business delegation.
