On 9 January President Edgars Rinkēvičs paid a working visit to the State City of Jūrmala. At the beginning of the visit, the President of Latvia met with the leadership of Jūrmala City Council and visited Jūrmala State Gymnasium, where he met with teachers and students of the school.
“Jūrmala State Gymnasium fosters a love of learning through creativity and the thoughtful use of technology. You can see that the young people here are vibrant and inquisitive individuals. Through active participation, students develop a sense of belonging to their school and municipality, creating an attractive and liveable environment for all residents,” said President Edgars Rinkēvičs.
During the visit to Jūrmala, President of Latvia met with tourism entrepreneurs at the Jūrmala Central library and together with representatives of the Jūrmala municipality visited the “Annas Māja” café to discuss the development of Ķemeri region.
“Jūrmala remains one of the largest resort cities on the Baltic Sea coast. The hospitality and tourism industry has been instrumental in this success, and it was a particular pleasure to meet with representatives of this sector today,” said President Rinkēvičs.
During his visit to the city, President Rinkēvičs also got acquainted with the work of Jūrmala Municipal Police, Jūrmala Hospital, Jūrmala Cultural Space and Environmental Design Centre as well as Resort Rehabilitation Centre “Jaunķemeri”.
