Egils Levits and Agnis Drīksna discussed progress of the project in all three Baltic countries and reiterated the regional significance of the project for Baltics and Europe. Agnis Drīksna presented current management and implementation activities, as well as process of public consultations with population and local governments. President and Chairman of the RB Rail also discussed participation of Finland and Poland in implementation of Rail Baltica. President Levits was also keen to learn more about funding, cross-sectoral and legal dimensions of the project.
President of Latvia underlined that ‘successful implementation of Rail Baltica requires stronger political support and cross-sectoral and interinstitutional cooperation’.
