On 17 February, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović in Munich to discuss bilateral cooperation between Latvia and Montenegro, as well as Montenegro's integration into the European Union (EU). The meeting took place in the margins of the Munich Security Conference.
During the meeting, the President of Latvia welcomed the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed gratitude for Montenegro's contribution to strengthening Latvia's security by participating in the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group.
President Rinkēvičs also expressed Latvia’s support for Montenegro's integration into the EU.
