On 8 December President Edgars Rinkēvičs paid a working visit to Ķekava municipality, where he met with the deputies of Ķekava municipality, got acquainted with the business environment and visited Ķekava social care centre.
‘This regional visit has put more emphasis on the business environment. In Ķekava, I visited companies representing various sectors, from food and cosmetics production to metalworking and transport services. Ķekava Municipality breaks a number of stereotypes about municipalities in the Rīga Region, because people not only live here, but also work and try actively to develop entrepreneurship in the municipality. The management and entrepreneurs of Ķekava municipality are making use of the geographical advantages, availability of infrastructure and services to provide not only a pleasant living environment, but also prospective jobs. The economic life of Ķekava municipality is getting stronger and stronger, and it makes a significant contribution to the entire Latvian economy,’ said President Edgars Rinkēvičs.
During his visit, the President of Latvia visited JSC ‘Putnu fabrika Ķekava’, coffee production company ‘Löfbergs Baltic’ Ltd, bathtub manufacturing company ‘PAA’ Ltd, technical timber transportation company JSC ‘Metsatek’, metal laser cutting and bending service provider ‘EM J Metāls’ Ltd and natural cosmetics home producer ‘Silmachy remedies’ Ltd.
