On 21 July, Arti Hilpus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Latvia, paid a farewell visit to the Riga Castle where he met with the President of Latvia Egils Levits. President of Latvia presented Ambassador Arti Hilpus the highest state award of Latvia for special service to Latvia. According to the decision of the Chapter of Orders, Mr Hilpus became the Commander of the Order of the Three Stars for playing a significant role in promoting bilateral relations between Estonia and Latvia.
‘Latvia and Estonia are bound by shared history and also similar vision of the modern world and numerous ideas on how to further strengthen the already close bilateral cooperation across various areas,’ President of Latvia Egils Levits said as he praised Ambassador Hilpus’ achievements during the posting to Latvia.
