Today, President of Latvia Egils Levits and the First Lady Andra Levite met with Grobiņa History Club members, school and municipality representatives at the Skābārži Castle Mound to discuss the nomination of Grobiņa archaeological ensemble for the UNESCO World Heritage List. Archaeological dig site and the new hiking trail has become a popular attraction among domestic and international tourists.
