World Federation of Free Latvians has become not only home for many Latvians having fled to the world after the war and the occupation of Latvia, but also a reliable assistant and great support for restoration of an independent Latvian state and national self-determination right. President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis emphasized that in his greetings to the World Federation of Free Latvians (WFFL), which marks its 60th anniversary today, February 25.

 

“Without the assistance of Latvians living abroad, many achievements of Latvia, including membership in NATO, would not have been possible,” stressed President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis. In his greeting, the President of Latvia thanked the organization for its contribution in strengthening national and cultural values among Latvian Americans and popularizing the name of Latvia in the world.

 

The President of Latvia also appreciated WFFL contribution in strengthening the external economic cooperation, by stressing an opportunity provided by the World Latvian Economics and Innovation Forum for Latvian entrepreneurs to meet, share experiences and develop cooperation with compatriots living abroad.

 

“This well-rooted tradition gathers successful, experienced businessmen and professionals of Latvian origin annually, thus enabling our entrepreneurs to use your experience and knowledge in order to pave the way for better development opportunities,” mentioned the President of Latvia.

 

President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis is a patron of the World Latvian Economics and Innovation Forum.
