When donating books to the Ķekava Secondary School, the President of Latvia called for this tradition to be continued by pointing out that if we did something small and little good for ourselves, our school, and our county, then we would shape and strengthen our country together.
During the regional visit, the President of Latvia met with Chairperson of Ķekava Regional Council Ms Viktorija Baire and the Councillors. During the meeting, the parties discussed the topical issues of Greater Riga local governments, including the rapid growth of population and the opportunities of local governments to provide the required infrastructure and services.
In his turn, during the meeting with the management and teachers of the educational establishments of Ķekava, Baloži, Daugmale, and Pļavniekkalns, they discussed the introduction of competence-based curriculum in the country.
During the visit, representatives of the Ķekava Regional Business Council and regional entrepreneurs introduced the President of Latvia to the topical business-related issues in the region and stressed the importance of continuing the implementation of stable taxation policy. At the end of the visit, the President of Latvia visited company PAA Ltd. and company Glastik Ltd., where he familiarised with the operations of the companies. “The activities I saw is a confirmation of the fact that the enterprises in Latvia are able to create innovative products and be competitive in international markets,” acknowledged the President of Latvia after the meeting.
