President of Latvia: better international laws will promote cybersecurity and efforts to limit disinformation

Today, President of Latvia Egils Levits, who is currently at the Munich Security Conference met with the CEO of Jigsaw Jared Cohen to discuss how international community can promote cybersecurity and fight disinformation at the time when social media influence both the security and quality of democracy.

Egils Levits underlined that Riga-based NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence plays an important role in tackling these issues.

President Levits also stressed that appropriate response at the level of international law is required to improve the quality of democracy at a time when rapid development of technologies is taking place.
