President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis awarded the Order of Three Stars, Class III, to opera singer Marina Rebeka in the Riga Castle today. Under the decision of the meeting of the Chapter of Orders on 12 October 2016, Marina Rebeka was appointed as Commander of the Order of Thress Stars for outstanding artistic performance and accomplishments in the art of opera in Latvia and in the world.
The outstanding artistic performance of the opera singer on the global opera stages and the constantly growing international recognition is a significant contribution to popularization of the name of Latvia and its musical culture beyond our national borders.
