"It was very interesting to talk with the students of the Ropaži Secondary School Eco-Council about the commendable work they are doing to create a nature-friendly environment at school and at home. It is delightful that young people sort and dispose of waste, plant more flowers and trees, walk and cycle more, and advocate for the opportunity to obtain cycling licences at school.
"It is gratifying to see an increase in the number of primary school pupils in the municipality and a gradual improvement in access to kindergartens for families, including the construction of modular buildings as a short-term solution," said the President.
While exploring business activities in Ropaži municipality, the President visited the fish farm “Zivs uz Ledus”, the robotic food equipment manufacturing facility “Peruza,” and the construction material production plant “Sakret.”
"In Ropaži municipality, growth in entrepreneurship not only creates jobs but also establishes the necessary conditions to encourage an increase in the population. It is encouraging that the local government and the enterprising residents of Ropaži are working to create an environment with added value," stated President Edgars Rinkēvičs.
At the conclusion of the working visit, President Rinkēvičs toured the library at the cultural centre "Ulbrokas pērle" and met with the residents of Ropaži municipality, addressing their pressing questions.
