President of Latvia Egils Levits will travel to Munich on 17-19 February to take part in the major annual European security conference. President Levits and leaders of other countries and international organisations will discuss key foreign and security policy challenges during the Munich Security Conference.
President will take part in panel discussion Show of Force or Just for Show? Fostering Resilience in Europe’s North-East and a roundtable Completing Europe in a Time of Conflict: The Three Seas Initiative and Europe’s Infrastructure Integration. Munich Security Conference, which takes place shortly before one-year anniversary of full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, will primarily focus on quality of cooperation between allies and their political commitment to ensure the rules-based international order.
In addition to conference events, President Levits will also have a number of important meetings. Heads of all three Baltic countries will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron, while President Levits is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with President of Slovenia Natasa Pirc Musar, President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein Alois and Dominique Hasler, Lichtenstein’s Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport Minister, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia’s Foreign Affairs Ministers, as well as other officials.
