On 24 October, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže at the Riga Castle. During the meeting, the parties discussed foreign policy issues, including support for Ukraine, the European Union (EU), particularly with regard to the forthcoming EU multiannual budget for 2028-2030, and the NATO agenda issues, as well as the strengthening of transatlantic ties.
During the meeting, President Rinkēvičs and the Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed the Third Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform, which is taking place in Riga from 23-24 October. "Latvia will continue to provide all forms of support to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and will promote the understanding and support of the international community for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders," said E. Rinkēvičs.
The officials agreed on the need to enhance collaboration with transatlantic allies, which is essential for strengthening regional security.
