President of Latvia Egils Levits met with President of the Latvian Olympic Committee (LOC) Aldons Vrubļevskis, General Secretary Žoržs Tikmers, and Honorary President of LOC Vilnis Baltiņš in the Riga Castle on August 20.
During the meeting, operations of LOC, sports development issues, as well as the course of topical Latvian sports events in 2019 and 2020 were discussed including the opening of the 6th season of the program “Sporto visa klase” (Entire Grade Goes in For Sports), Annual Sports Award of Latvia, Latvian V Olympiad, and Summer Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo.
To honour the fact that President of Latvia Egils Levits participated in the restoration of LOC on 19 November 1988 and addressed the audience at the Daugava Sports Centre, the management of LOC presented book “Latvian Olympic History” to the President of Latvia.
