Governor Kazāks presented Central Bank’s assessment of current economic and fiscal trends in Latvia, Europe and the world to President Levits and underlined that Latvian government has made the right steps to mitigate the crisis. President and Governor agreed that Latvia must use Covid-19 lessons to enhance its sustainability, promote solidarity among people and invest more in education and reskilling of workforce.
Mārtiņš Kazāks also shared his views on the proposed merging of Financial and Capital Markets Commission and the Central Bank, which is currently being debated in the parliament.
