President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs and General Director of Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) Kaspars Rožkalns met at the Riga Castle on 30 August.
Meeting focused on Latvia’s efforts to strengthen international trade ties, forthcoming events, activities and cooperation plans of LIAA.
President Rinkēvičs raised the issue of planned foreign visits and potential participation of business delegation in these events. Director General of LIAA and President also discussed Agency’s strategic objectives and core activities aimed at supporting new foreign investments, as well as greater uptake of innovations.
President Rinkēvičs urged LIAA to pay special focus on its efficiency as an organisation, as well as evaluating and assessing its past activities to make sure its efforts are more successful and less satisfactory initiatives are discontinued.
