On 17 February, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with Crown Prince Alois Philipp Maria of Liechtenstein in Munich to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Latvia's candidacy to the United Nations (UN) Security Council and Liechtenstein's Presidency of the Council of Europe.
The President of Latvia confirmed his willingness to continue cooperating with international organisations, including efforts to hold Russia accountable for war crimes. He also welcomed the cooperation between Latvia and Liechtenstein in establishing an international tribunal under the auspices of the UN.
During the meeting, E. Rinkēvičs confirmed Latvia's support for Liechtenstein during its Presidency of the Council of Europe. The President of Latvia has invited Liechtenstein to continue using the Register of Damage for Ukraine established during Latvia's Presidency of the Council of Europe. The register documents the significant damage caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
