On 5 September, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs met with representatives of the Latvian Umbrella Body For Disability Organisations SUSTENTO to discuss current agenda of SUSTENTO’s member organisations that represent people with disabilities and patients with chronic diseases.
‘Many painful long-term problems and some new challenges were identified during today’s meeting. It is important to ensure all Latvian people are able to enjoy life fully and benefit from an inclusive society, also in terms of employability and good quality of life. I hope our new government will follow the principles of inclusive social policy,’ President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs said during the meeting.
President also promised to continue improving the design of Riga Castle to make it accessible to people with special needs as SUSTENTO has recommended.
