On 9 June, recognising the lifelong contribution to development of Latvian language, research on historic roots and strengthening of Latvian identity, President of Latvia presented Latvian linguist, folklorist, folk musician, teacher, public figure and Officer of the Order of the Three Stars Austris Grasis a Presidential Medal. Ceremony took place at the Riga Castle.
‘Latvian nation is extremely grateful for your immense contribution to the Latvian State,’ President of Latvia Egils Levits said as he congratulated Mr Grasis on his 80th birthday.
