Raimonds Vējonis
On Monday, 11 September 2017, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis accredited the Ambassadors of Sweden and Slovenia to Latvia in a solemn ceremony held in the Riga Castle.

 

During a conversation with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Latvia Ms Annika Jagander, the President of Latvia emphasised that Latvia and Sweden had developed very good bilateral relations. Bilateral cooperation covers the widest range of issues, and it is implemented at all levels. Latvia is interested in continuing excellent collaboration with Sweden in both bilateral and regional formats, in particular by developing cooperation in the field of security and defence as well as innovation and information and communication technologies.

 

During the meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Latvia Mr Robert Krmelj, the President of Latvia welcomed the friendly relations with Slovenia, especially the close cooperation within the framework of the European Union and NATO. Raimonds Vējonis thanked the Ambassador for the participation of the Slovenian soldiers in the NATO Battle Group in Latvia.
