“Each judge is responsible for the work of the judicial system as a whole, and each judge must be involved in strengthening the rule of law in Latvia,” indicated the President of Latvia.
When congratulating the judges on their initiation, the President of Latvia wished them to make every effort to ensure that justice in the country is secured and that the trust of the people in the judiciary is increased.
The law prescribes that every judge gives an oath (solemn promise) to the President of Latvia before commencement of his or her duties and solemnly promises to be honest and fair, faithful to the Republic of Latvia, always strive to find out the truth, never betray the fact, judge in strict accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Latvia.
