The Latvia-India dialogue has been developing successfully confirming the interest of both countries in strengthening cooperation, including in the exchange of high-level visits, as President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis stated during his meeting with Minister of State of India for External Affairs Mobashar Jawed Akbar in the Riga Castle today. 

The President of Latvia noted that a wide range of Indian entrepreneurs participating in the India - Latvia Business Conference in Riga today proved the significance of the economic cooperation.

 

The role of India as a trading partner for Latvian economy increases. The dialogue between the two countries should be expanded in education, information and communication technologies, transport, and logistics, where Indian businesses are invited to assess the advantageous geographical position of Latvia and its well-developed transport infrastructure.

 

During the meeting, the President of Latvia expressed his satisfaction on the fact that the exchange of students and teachers in higher education increased and various Latvian - Indian cultural cooperation projects were implemented.
