On 2 October at the Riga Castle, President Edgars Rinkēvičs presented the awards of the "President's Cup in Athletics 2024" to the athletes Grēta Karinauskaite and Gediminas Truskauskas from Lithuania, who had achieved the highest scores, as well as the overall winner of the national team standings – the Estonian national athletics team.
"For thirty years, my predecessors and I have been presenting the "President's Cup in Athletics" trophies to athletes at the Riga Castle. It is a great pleasure that this tradition has grown from a Latvian regional competition to a Baltic event. I would like to thank all the athletes and coaches for inspiring our children and young people by your example and success. They see the results of the hard work and training," said President E. Rinkēvičs during a meeting with athletes.
