On 20 December at Riga Castle President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs met with Prime Minister Evika Siliņa. During their last work meeting of the year, the two officials discussed what has been done over the course of 2023, including the decisions taken by the government yesterday and the by the European Council last week.
At the press conference after the meeting, the President of Latvia noted internal security, reducing the administrative burden and improving the competitiveness of the country as issues that the government ought to prioritise for next year.
