On 17 October, President of Latvia Egils Levits met with Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš to discuss the formation of the new coalition and government negotiations. Following the meeting, President Levits informed that he has asked Prime Minister Kariņš to continue negotiations with potential coalition parties on even deeper level to find common position in various areas.
As President of Latvia reiterated, Latvia needs a development-oriented government. ‘We need a government that can drive Latvia’s development in the next four years, not just a government that survives the next cycle’.
