Dear organizers and participants,
The subject matter of today’s conference should encourage us to rethink energy, and to look for ways, how to increase the share of offshore wind in our region.
So, let me congratulate all those who are responsible for this conference: the right move at the right moment.
The current, highly volatile geopolitical and economic situation has again highlighted how critical the issues of energy security and independence are.
Joint efforts must be put in place to fast-track energy transition.
Offshore wind energy is undoubtedly part of the solution of the problem of climate change.
It is therefore necessary to speed up the development of renewable energy projects, and to accelerate the production of their key components.
How to enhance energy independence in our wider region will be one of the key topics on the agenda also at the Three Seas Initiative Summit and Business Forum, that Latvia will be hosting in Riga on 20–21 June.
Using this opportunity, I would like to invite you to be part of the Business Forum to shape the energy discussion.
These are not ‘business as usual’ times. I therefore wish you result-oriented, purposeful exchanges today. The opportunities are there, let’s use them.
Thank you!
