During the official visit, the President of Latvia and First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone will take part in the flower laying ceremony at Westminster Abbey and then go for an audience with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on July 19. The meeting of the President of Latvia and Madam Speaker of the UK House of Lords Baroness D'Souza and Speaker of the UK House of Commons John Bercow will follow afterwards. On Tuesday evening, the President of Latvia will visit the House of Daugava Hawks and he will meet representatives of the Latvian community on a separate occasion.
On July 20, Raimonds Vējonis will give an interview to newspaper “Financial Times” and then he will visit the Headquarters of NATO Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC), where he will meet with Chief of Staff Commander Lieutenant General Timothy Evans and Latvian representative at the ARRC Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel Igors Kļaviņš during a luncheon.
According to her individual program within the framework of the visit, First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone as the patroness of the Latvian diaspora schools will meet with representatives of the Latvian diaspora together with Ms. Inguna Peniķe, spouse of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to the United Kingdom Andris Teikmanis, to discuss current issues of diaspora education at the Embassy of Latvia.
