On 8 July, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs will take the solemn oath of the President of Latvia and receive the highest state awards at the extraordinary session of the Saeima.
After the ceremony, Edgars Rinkēvičs will lay flowers at the Freedom Monument, the graves of the first President of Latvia, Jānis Čakste, and the first Foreign Minister of Latvia, Zigfrīds Anna Meierovics.
Later, in a symbolic ceremony at the Riga Castle, President Edgars Rinkēvičs will receive the key of the Riga Castle from President Egils Levits (2019–2023) and Andra Levite. A reception will also be held at the Riga Castle to mark the inauguration of Edgars Rinkēvičs.
At the end of the day, President Rinkēvičs will attend a dance performance ‘Mūžīgais dzinējs’.
