On 27 June at Riga Castle Matīss Vingris, Justice of the Riga City Court, gave the judicial oath to President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs.
“In undertaking this job, you undertake a great responsibility. It is the duty of justice to decide legal matters in accordance with the principles of fairness and the rule of law. For many people, the court is the last possible institution for obtaining fairness and justice. People expect grounded, fair and just decisions. Even if the decision is not in their favour, people still expect it to be explained. I wish you all the best and success in your new post,” President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs said at the official oath-giving ceremony.
