On 13 April, in Portugal, in the presence of the presidents of Latvia, a Memorandum of understanding was signed between the world-renowned Champalimaud Foundation for Biomedical Research and three Latvian science institutions - Rīga Stradiņš University, Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital and Rīga Technical University.
The agreement foresees cooperation by developing innovative technologies in the field of breast cancer. President Levits noted: “This cooperation will be our common contribution towards diminishing country borders in the fight against breast cancer and perform breast cancer operations together in Riga and Lisbon. New technologies may initiate a new surgical era - the so-called surgical metaverse”.
