On 21 September, in New York, President of Latvia Egils Levits met with President of Namibia Hage Geingob to discuss national positions on UN reforms and bilateral cooperation.
Heads of both states praised UN Secretary-General Guterres for his new ‘Our common agenda’ initiative and agreed that UN should implement reforms that are significant for all regions of the world without hesitation. President of Namibia evaluated Latvia’s decision to apply for non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council in 2026-2027 positively.
Presidents of both countries also talked about strengthening of Latvia-Namibia education and trade cooperation.
