“This charity project is open to all individuals enabling create brighter and happier Christmas for many children. I strongly urge everyone, please, do not pass the dreams of those children by and maybe some of them will greet Christmas more cheerfully!” said First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone at the opening ofLaima’s Heart Warmth House.

 

Continuing the tradition established last year, Iveta Vējone chose the first child-made card from the miraculous Christmas tree in the Heart Warmth House. This year, Vējoņi family will make Christmas wishes of six children from a foster family from Līgatne region come true this year.

 

“Everyone wishes to believe in a miracle, but children believe in miracles very particularly. They believe in Santa Claus and write letters to him, where they entrust their wishes and secrets. I hope very much that we will maintain children’s belief in miracles,” said Iveta Vējone.

 

During Vilciņi family from Kalupe district, Daugavpils region, also attended the opening event of the Heart Warmth House, whom Iveta Vējone greeted on Christmas within the project of the Laima Heart Warmth House last year. Sons of Vilciņi family, Rolands, Raimonds, and Raivis, received hockey sticks with signatures of players from hockey team Dinamo as gift.

 

The Laima Heart Warmth House is opened at the Laima Clock in Riga City for the fifth year in a row with an aim fulfil wishes of more than 1,100 children from Latvian needy large families and little patients of the Oncology ward of Children's Clinical University Hospital for long-awaited Christmas gifts with public support.
