On Thursday, December 6, the visit will start with a solemn welcoming ceremony at the Riga Castle. The representatives of the Danish royal family will meet with President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone in the Riga Castle, as well as Their Royal Highnesses will take part in the flower-laying ceremony at the Freedom Monument. In the National Library of Latvia, there will be the book donation ceremony by TRH Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Denmark to the People’s Bookshelf. Later on Their Royal Highnesses will attend the concert of the great Danish baroque ensemble Concerto Copenhagen at the Large Guild. At the end of the first day of the visit, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējone will hold an official dinner in honor of the royal guests.
On Friday, December 7, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederick will be acquainted with the submitted projects for the international draft design competition organised with the support of Denmark “Architectural Vision of the Full Construction of the Creative Quarter TabFab”, whereas Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary will meet representatives of non-governmental organisations at the Foundation Center Dardedze. At the end of the visit, Their Royal Highnesses will visit the museum exhibition “Centenary of Latvia” at the Latvian National Museum of History.
The official visit will be held in honor of the centenary of the Republic of Latvia and will strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Chancery of the President of Latvia will announce media accreditation for covering the official visit of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark to Latvia in the near future.
