Head of the Chancery of the President of Latvia, Andris Teikmanis, met with parliamentary delegation from German parliament, Bundestag, at the Riga Castle on 15 September. He met with members of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), including Latvian-born Zanda Martens. Andris Teikmanis and members of SPD political group in Bundestag discussed war in Ukraine and support efforts applied by Germany and Baltics.
Members of Bundestag were also keen to learn more about how Latvia will ensure energy independence from Russia this and next heating seasons, and how government will help its population cover the rising energy costs.
