To mark the 20th anniversary of Latvia's accession to the European Union, a guard of honour ceremony was held at the Riga Castle, and the European Union flag was rised on the Holy Spirit Tower of the Riga Castle. The event was attended by the President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, the Speaker of the Saeima Daiga Mieriņa, the Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže, and the President of the Supreme Court Aigars Strupišs.
