Raimonds Vējonis
Dear Latvian pupils, students, teachers, and parents! I cordially congratulate all of you on September 1 - the Knowledge Day!

Dear pupils of Latvia,

We can do great things only if we are intelligent, zealous, and curious. I wish you to learn new skills, discover new wonders, and find new friends and see how beautiful, diverse, and interesting the world around us is in this school year. One can learn music easier if we know math well. You cannot write a good paper in biology and chemistry if you did not master grammar. Learn to think, discuss, and cooperate! Knowledge is the power that no one can take away. It is the power, which will shape our future. Grow big and smart for Latvia!

Dear students of universities in Latvia,

I call for and wish you to strengthen the foundation for your future growth purposefully during your studies. Our country needs wise academic minds, the skills perfected in practice, and new ideas in every area. We need people, who are willing to take bold decisions and take responsibility for them. Learn from the best, and you will be the best yourself!

Dear teachers in kindergartens, schools, and universities,

Our children and young people of Latvia, that is, the future of our country, are in your hands. I believe and I know that you will be excellent teachers and lecturers for them, an excellent example for personal growth, a stable system of values and folk wisdom for young people in this school year as well. I wish that every day of the school year brought satisfaction for the success of your students! I wish that the desire to learn and develop still burnt in you like in your students in the new academic year!

Dear parents,

The new school year starts today for you as well. Your support in achieving their goals will be very important for your children. Be interested and constructive cooperation partners for teachers! Thus, we will be creating high-quality education system together that will allow young people of Latvia to improve themselves, to realize their dreams and to compete successfully both in Latvia and internationally.

I wish you a great new school year in kindergartens, schools, and universities in Latvia!
