President of Latvia Egils Levits and Andra Levite today visited the Children's Clinical University Hospital (CCUH), where they met with the hospital management and inspected both the newly opened and under-construction development projects of the hospital.
Valts Ābols, Chairman of the Board of CCUH, and Linda Arhinoviča, Head of the Projects Department, gave a tour to the President of Latvia and Mrs Andra Levite of the newly opened inpatient rooms, as well as the future Children's House, which will provide the necessary support to abused children, including gentle questioning for criminal proceedings, as well as medical examinations and medical expertise. E. Levits and Ms A. Levite also inspected the construction works of the Centre for Child and Youth Mental Health.
During the meeting, President Levits and Mrs Levite, together with the hospital's management, discussed its activities and achievements in improving the patient experience and promoting public health literacy. The Chairman of the Board of CCUH especially thanked the President and the Chancery of the President for their substantial support in the digital transformation process of CCUH. V. Ābols also appreciated Mrs Levite's involvement in the development of the children and youth health portal veselapasaule.lv and thanked her for raising awareness of child health issues such as obesity and mental health.
The President of Latvia and Mrs Andra Levite said that CCUH is a good example for other medical institutions in the implementation of innovation and digital technologies. E. Levits and Mrs Levite also acknowledged that CCUH is developing a new medical culture, which other medical institutions in Latvia should also strive for.
