On 6 February, President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with President of the Employers' Confederation of Latvia (LDDK) Andris Bite at the Riga Castle. The discussion focused on reducing public sector expenditure and bureaucracy, as well as LDDK’s perspective and proposals on these matters.
President Rinkēvičs listened to the Employers' Confederation’s views on the need to reassess public sector functions to address inefficiencies, streamline processes, and improve the delivery of public administration services.
"The reduction of public sector costs must be meaningful, aimed at a thorough review of institutional functions. I appreciate the commitment expressed by the President of the Employers' Confederation of Latvia to collaborate and provide the government with concrete and practical proposals for enhancing the efficiency of public services," said President Rinkēvičs.
