“Latvia will pursue a policy of non-recognition regarding the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol,” emphasised President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis during the meeting.
Addressing the leaders of the Crimean Tatars, the President of Latvia voiced his concern about restrictions to the rights of Crimean Tatars and their persecution on the peninsula. “International human rights observers must be granted full access to the Crimean Peninsula,” stated Raimonds Vējonis.
President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis pays an official visit to Ukraine from 23 November to 25 November 2018. During the day, he met with President of Ukraine Mr Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman. The President of Latvia also participated in the commemorative events dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor.
