Raimonds Vējonis
While commencing the official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark on Monday, President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis visited the Antvorskov Army Barracks and met with the Latvian soldiers, who are preparing to participate in the international military operation in Iraq targeted at terrorist organisation Daesh.

The Latvian unit is integrated into the Danish contingent operating in Iraq under the US-led coalition operational plan. In the Antvorskov Army Barracks, six Latvian soldiers are preparing for the peacekeeping mission when they will train the experts from the Iraqi armed forces in combating terrorists. Their departure to Iraq is planned in late July.
