Dear pupils, students, educators, and parents, residents of Latvia, I congratulate you sincerely on the Knowledge Day!
The day has come, when the educational establishments open their doors again to the students after the summer holidays. This is a significant event in the lives of pupils, their parents, students, and educators, which always make us think about the importance of knowledge for the development of every personality and our Latvia.
High-quality education is the only path to a strong country and a strong society. It should enable all the residents of Latvia to reach the highest tops of their personal and professional lives. High-qualitative education is both knowledge acquired during lessons and lectures and the continuous pursuit of every resident of Latvia for new skills and experiences. Therefore, September 1 should be the beginning of a new school year not just for students in educational institutions, but for all of us. Educated people, who have their profession and are capable in their occupation, form the basis of a strong Latvia.
All people, regardless of their place of residence, income level, or social status, should have access to quality education. At the same time, we must not forget about individual excellence, because the most knowledgeable ones and their achievements will be those who will inspire others and will promote the growth of Latvia.
The quality of education will always be based on the highest requirements applicable to all those involved in the process. I would like to thank all those who are working with huge sense of responsibility! During the new school year, I call on the teachers to be demanding of their students, while pupils and students must expect the best performance of teachers. Of course, I wish families supported their children with the greatest interest in their school while seeking opportunities to become even more knowledgeable themselves.
