Pope Francis will visit Latvia on 24 September 2018 by responding to the invitation of President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and the Roman Catholic Church of Latvia.
During the visit, Pope Francis will meet with President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis, top Latvian officials and representatives of the public, as well as he will take part in the flower-laying ceremony at the Freedom Monument.
During the visit, it is planned that Pope Francis will take part in the ecumenical service at the Riga Dome Cathedral, as well as celebrate the Holy Mass in the Aglona Basilica.

The visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the Baltic States will take place from 22 to 25 September 2018, while he will also visit Vilnius and Kaunas in Lithuania and Tallinn in Estonia.
This year marks 25 years since the visit of Pope John Paul II to Latvia.
