Dear Minister!
Dear soldiers, relatives, friends!
Dear guests!
First of all, I congratulate you, 59 full-fledged soldiers of our National Armed Forces, on giving the honourable oath!
All of us have a reason to be proud of you and your decision to join the State Defence Service. We are grateful for your commitment to serving our country. You have been assigned to serve in the Headquarters Battalion of the National Armed Forces. This unit is responsible for performing combat tasks and providing leadership to the Armed Forces. Furthermore, it serves as a representation of our country and armed forces by hosting ceremonies, distinguished guests, and demonstrating our readiness and combat capability.
I would like to thank your parents and relatives for raising such remarkable young people. I would also like to express my gratitude to the officers and instructors who have invested so much to help you along the journey to becoming valued members of our armed forces.
Whether you choose to continue in the military or pursue a civilian career - you will be well prepared both for the defence of our country and for future professional or personal endeavours.
I wish you all a fulfilling and rewarding service and hope you take pride in serving Latvia!
