This year, we have met with people of Latvia in many places, and we always witnessed how great people and how strong families lived in Latvia! Our beloved ones are our primary support, and we find inspiration and strength in them.
The First Lady:
In our family, last year was full of different experiences. We also felt the power created by positive thoughts of other people, genuine human support, and feeling of a warm shoulder in a painful moment.
However, the most important news this year was jubilant, as we welcomed our first grandchild into this world. We are truly happy for every new-born child in Latvia. We see in every baby how the future of Latvian people is emerging and growing.
The President of Latvia:
We all create Latvia with our deeds, thoughts, and dreams here and elsewhere in the vast world. We shall enter the New Year with new goals, greater confidence in ourselves, and courage to make bold decisions.
Latvia must unlock its potential, and that is our primary task for the New Year. We must achieve that our quick thoughts, bright ideas, and big plans come true. Let us discern and appreciate what we have already achieved as well.
It is important that the state creates such preconditions enabling our talents to express and our enterprise to bear fruit. I committed to promoting that.
The First Lady:
Sticking together is vital. Respect and care for each other will help us reach new milestones. Let more confidence and inspiration rule among us!
The President of Latvia:
Let us wish happiness to those people, who have believed in us, supported us and helped on our path of life that is, to your family, colleagues at work, neighbours, and friends. Let us appreciate that so many people live around us, who care about how we are doing, who consider security and development of our country be crucial.
Let us remember that the strength and wisdom that we will require in the coming year for the growth of Latvia emerge from our mutual relations. Let us take lightness and togetherness of the turn of the year into the New Year and bestow it to one another on a daily basis!
