Dear Minister!
The entire medical community of Latvia!
Dear guests!
It is a great pleasure to be with you today!
Since I was elected President of Latvia, I have had the opportunity to visit many medical institutions both in Riga and the regions. As a curious observer rather than a patient, I aim to discuss your concerns and identify areas where we can work together. My conversations and meetings with medical professionals have been inspiring and thought-provoking.
Today, you are here to reflect on the year and honour the best of the best. We are here to express our gratitude to the medical professionals for their selfless dedication to helping others. I appreciate your compassion towards patients and for making medical or dental visits less daunting.
Together we must continue to work towards improving and increasing accessibility to our country's healthcare system. But right now, when discussing healthcare and medicine, it is important to focus on creating a safer work environment. This will ensure that healthcare professionals feel comfortable communicating with and treating patients and that patients receive comprehensive information about what kind of treatment they need.
Today, let's take a break from everyday life, honour the best of the best and try to work together towards making medical profession in our country a prestigious and highly desirable field, and ensuring that every patient receives timely care and support.
Thank you!
